Wessex DriveAbility’s Open Event - Professionals Only
Wednesday 9th May 2018 - FULLY BOOKED
Wednesday 12th September 2018 - SPACES AVAILABLE
Our next Open Event on Wednesday 9th May 2018 is now FULLY BOOKED.
However, due to popular demand we have released an additional date this year and we are pleased to announce that we will be holding another Open Day on: Wednesday 12th September 2018 from 9.30am to 1.00pm
This event will give those working closely with older persons or those that have a disability or injury an opportunity to see how we would assess someone’s driving.
The event will consist of a presentation of our services, including what we would assess during a fitness to drive, adaptation or transfer assessment, information on adaptations and equipment, how we receive referrals and an opportunity to ask questions. This will then be followed by an optional drive of an adapted vehicle with one of our Centres Driving Assessors. Our Occupational Therapist will also provide a separate discussion on how we assess cognition in relation to driving.
During the event, we will be show casing all our Centre’s modern vehicles that consist of a varied amount of adaptations, transfer and stowage equipment. We will also supply some light refreshments.
After this event, you will be given a CPD certificate and come away with a better understanding of our services, which will assist you in your knowledge of how to support someone if they wish to commence, continue, get back to driving or have issues with transferring in and out of a vehicle.
To book your place, please complete the form below. Please note that there are limited spaces for this event, so if you cannot attend after submitting your form please inform our Centre. Once you have submitted your booking form, we will be in touch to confirm your place, this will be subject to availability and will be on a first come first served basis.
